Terms of Membership Agreement
 
 

Yorkshire Husky Meets (aka “YHM”) is a purely social organisation promoting the exercise and socialisation of dogs and their owners. The organisers, staff and event hosts have volunteered their time to organise events within and for YHM.

 

I understand that attendance at YHM events is not without risk to me, my guests or my dogs.I understand and accept the inherent risk related to participation in YHM events and activities.

 

I accept that my dogs, my guests and I may be exposed to dogs which may be difficult to control and may be the cause of injury.

 

I hereby waive and release the organisers, staff and event hosts of the “group” and any participating businesses from any and all liability of any nature for injury or damage which I, my guests or my dog(s) may suffer including specifically but not limited to any injury or damage resulting from the action of said dog(s) or any other dog(s).

 

In consideration of and as an inducement to the acceptance for attendance by my dogs, my guests and/or me at any YHM event I hereby agree to indemnify and hold blameless the organisers, assistant organisers, event host or any participating businesses from all claims by any member of my family or any other person accompanying me to any YHM event as a result of injury or damage by any dog, including my own, or for any other reason.

By attendance to an YHM event you agree to abide by the following rules & policies;

 

  • Members must keep their dog(s) under control at all times. It is the sole responsibility of the member to supervise their dog(s) when attending YHM events. All dogs no matter what breed must always be kept on a lead at all times during and after the walk. As a group YHM do not advocate the letting of Siberian Huskies off the lead unless in an enclosed secure area.

 

  • All members and their guests must be considerate and respectful to other members and path users at all times whilst representing YHM on and after events. Give right away to other path users such as cyclists, horse riders, hikers and other dog owners.

 

  • The organiser or any other YHM member of staff has power to ask any member to leave if they feel the member or their dog(s) are not a good fit for the group.

 

  • Please ask a dog owners permission before you give any dogs a treat, some dogs suffer from dietary requirement, sensitive stomachs and/or allergies.

 

  • All puppies must be at least 12 to 14 weeks of age to attend and must have completed their puppy vaccination course to attend.

 

  • All dogs must be in good health. If you dog is ill, harboring parasites or other infectious diseases they may not attend YHM events; eg; Kennel Cough, Parvo etc.

 

  • Un-spayed females, when in heat, may attend YHM events but a member of YHM staff must be informed before attending any YHM events. Entire male dogs will be also be accepted but in both cases in will be at the discretion of the organiser.

 

  • You must clean up after your dog(s) so that we will continue to be welcome places our meets our held.· You must inform a member of staff or the event organiser before you attend any YHM events if your dog(s) have any sort of aggression towards dogs or people, recently rescued (not assessed with other dogs or people), trust problems or nervousness. 

 

(If any members are struggling with the behaviour of their dog(s) please ask for advice on better and positive response training techniques on the YHM member’s news group or contact a reputable Canine Behaviourist.)

 

  • YHM will not knowingly accept uncontrollable or aggressive dogs to events. If a dog is identified to be aggressive the owner handler will be warned and asked to control their dog(s). If an aggressive incident occurs that results in injury the member or members guest(s) may be asked to leave and will not be eligible to attend any future YHM events. The owner/handler agrees to be solely responsible for ANY AND ALL costs incurred by any person or dog which may be the victim of their dog(s) aggressive attack.

 

  • YHM does not tolerate or support any use of aggressive physical discipline towards animals this be by, striking, hitting or kicking; aggressive shouting or screaming; aggressive lead pulling; the use of prong, pinch or shock collars.If any member or members guests are seen or have reported to have caused uncalled stress or pain to theirs or another members dog(s) they will be spoken to and advised about the incident. If this occurs again the member or their guests will be asked to leave and will not be eligible to attend any future YHM events.

  • If you are unable to attend an event that you have stated “YES” to you must update to “DECLINE” as soon as possible and no later than 1 hour before the scheduled event. If unable to do this please contact the event organiser via their personal mobile telephone number which will be on the details of the event. Event organisers will only wait a maximum of 10 minutes for any late comers and will then start the walk. 

 

Yorkshire Husky Meets Members Group is a place where members can feel comfortable about asking anything they want, no question is a silly or stupid question, members will not be judged or condemned for asking questions or looking for advice, the group is a friendly group with people of all ages and backgrounds, the following has been put in place to ensure the group stays this way whilst keeping it a fun place to be, please adhere to the following group rules;

 

  • YHM is not linked to any animal rescue or charity. anyone is welcome to a YHM event from any animal rescue, charity or other animal walking group

 

  • Please do not advertise or share any rescue or charity, any business related material, services or products on our Facebook pages or Members Forum, if you are unsure about posting please ask one of the members of staff first before posting anything. Members can recommend a product, company or service when answering a member’s initial post, i.e. what food would you recommend for a dog that is 9 months old?

 

  • The advertising or selling of puppies of any breed, studding or any other sort of breeding is not permitted.

 

  • The selling of used dog related equipment or items is permitted but must be deleted once sold.

 

  • Members are not allowed to arrange their own walks via any YHM group or page.

 

  • Posts reference lost or found dogs in the Yorkshire or surrounding area are permitted but must be updated then deleted 12 hours after updating. Any duplicate posts will be deleted without warning.

 

  • Any posts, comments, pictures, videos or links that are deemed to come across as abusive, rude, aggressive, slanderous, humiliating, insulting, bullying, racist, sexist, homophobic, pornographic, or the use of foul language towards other members will be deleted without warning, if the member persists then they will be removed from the group. Also any posts, comments, pictures or videos displaying content that is deamed to be against the promotion and wellbeing of the Siberian Husky breed will be deleted without warning ie; promoting off lead in areas that are not secure or a safe environment...

 

  • Please be considerate to other members when giving advice, if a member choices not to accept the advice then that is their decision, so please don't start any arguments, or heated discussions, or demand that the member changes something, or publicly humiliate a member, if you are not happy with a post or comment either contact one of the admin team with your complaint or PM the person directly to resolve it.

 

  • YHM is full of experienced dog owners as well as members who are new to the breed, we ask that if you are giving advice please only do so if you are speaking from your own previous experiences or researched from a creditable source, please don't give advice or recommend a product or technique from hearsay or a google search answer.

 

  • YHM Admin staff reserve the right to remove any person(s) without prior warning if any of the above T&C's are broken on a regular basis.
